As the year draws to an end, it is time to look back on 2021, the thirtieth Anniversary year of COMMSSA. On Sunday 1 August, there was another successful AGM followed by the sale of gourmet Mauritian food. Three other fundraising events were also scattered throughout the year: a Tropical Night in March, our annual Quiz Night in May and a food Fundraising Lunch in early October.

The thirtieth year of the Association was celebrated in late October with the 30-Year Anniversary Ball which was very well attended and enjoyed by all.

The annual Raffle, drawn on the same night, also helped top up our funds.

We thank our members and their relatives and friends for their support and attendance at our events this year and look forward to seeing them again next year.

2022 may well be a year of uncertainty and challenge; even if numbers at events are limited by COVID related restrictions, the Committee will continue to find ways to raise funds to assist the poor children of Mauritius and Rodrigues who require financial help for medical and surgical care.

The Management Committee of COMMSSA WA join me in wishing you a very happy and safe holiday season, a Merry Xmas and a healthy, Happy New Year.

Dr Mariam Bahemia

President.
